GH Phipps Construction Companies Awarded Contract for Colorado National Guard Readiness Center in Fort Lupton, Colorado
Greenwood Village, Colo., — July 17, 2009 — GH Phipps Construction Companies is pleased to announce they will provide Construction Management/General Contracting for a 25-acre Readiness Center valued at $10 million in Fort Lupton, Colorado for the The State of Colorado, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. GH Phipps will be working with HB&A Architects located in Colorado Springs who is the Architect of record for the project.
The Fort Lupton Readiness Center is the first step that will allow the Colorado Army National
Guard an opportunity to expand the Department’s presence throughout the State of Colorado
thus providing more ready forces and decreased response time.
The Fort Lupton Readiness Center will have a substantial economic impact in Fort Lupton by bringing new jobs to the area. Citizen Soldiers who apply for these part-time, community-based jobs will learn and enhance skills that will also benefit their full-time civilian employers,” said Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General of Colorado.
The project encompasses a 35,059 square foot primary facility that will contain an assembly hall,
classrooms, administrative offices, kitchen, family support office, recruiting office, storage,
small arms vault, physical fitness area, break room, restrooms and lockers. Supporting facilities
will include military and privately owned vehicle parking and access roads. Construction is
anticipated to begin in December, 2009.
